Stepwise process for existing VAT and Service Tax dealers to register and Enrolment under the new Goods and Service tax (GST)

All the existing taxpayers and VAT dealers will be given a provisional ID and password. You need to first create your user name and password using the provisional ID and password at the GST common portal –  www.gst.gov.in It is assumed that all the existing taxpayers are already registered under state VAT department. It covers both central excise and State VAT registration. To enrol under the GST common portal, you need to perform the following steps: 1. Access the official URL i.e.  www.gst.gov.in 2. (Migration of Existing Registrants to GST) This is continuation of earlier updation on the subject vide which we had conveyed that the period for applying for enrolment under Goods & Service Tax (GST) by the units situated in Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh is fixed from 16 th to 31 st of December, 2016. It was also conveyed that all the information/details of the assessee have been transferred from existing registration certificates to GST Portal, hence, it is hoped that you must have updated the A-1 Application.
